Once the golden child promising six-figure salaries and remote work heaven, it’s now stumbling its way through layoffs, budget cuts, and AI anxiety. The dream of building a secure, high-paying career in tech is fading faster than you can say, “downsizing.”
But this newsletter isn’t about mourning what was. It’s about creating what could be.
Every economic shift has its winners and losers. While most tech workers cling to their roles, hoping they’re not next on the chopping block, the bold few are asking the right question:
How can I earn more money?
See, the same AI that’s taking jobs is also creating opportunities. Those who learn to harness it will be the ones to redefine success in this new era. And that's where entrepreneurship comes in—not the shark tank, hustle-culture version, but the kind where you bet on yourself, start a business, and solve real problems.
So why start this newsletter?
Because I know what it takes to build something from scratch.
In 2020, I founded Co.Lab with my Co-Founder Helen Huang. We had no outside funding and a small team. Since then, we’ve trained over 1,500 people across 60 countries and made over $1.5 million online—all while staying bootstrapped and profitable.
Sounds good, right? But here’s the kicker: we could have made over $4 million if I hadn’t made some brutal mistakes. That’s the part nobody likes to talk about. So I’ve decided to do the vulnerable thing and share it all—the highs, the lows, and the hard-earned lessons I wish someone had told me earlier.
No fluff, just real talk!
I want to show tech professionals how to think like their employers and build something of their own, even if it starts as a side hustle. Because in a world where job security is an illusion, betting on yourself is the safest bet you can make.
